“Thread Works,” a two-day workshop providing a platform to the students of Textile Design for showcasing their works was organized by the Pearl Academy of Fashion, (PAF) one of the premier fashion and design institute in the country recently. The workshop was held in frot of huge number of visitors took place in Stainless Steels Gallery, New Delhi.
The workshop was based on certain themes which were represented by the students of textile design department through their works. The themes which included, “Euphoria in Nature,” “Panchatantra, “Circus,” “Wedding,” “Brain Activity” and many more, portrayed nature, culture of India, performance of circus and the rituals of Indian Wedding respectively. Pranab Mahajan, Director, Mahajan Overseas and Punit Nanda, Head, Genesis Colours were the chief guests in this event.
On this occassion Dr.AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion said “Market for luxury textiles is growing, and is asking for meaningful innovations. The students have shown their talent and creativity in the thought process by representing such beautiful themes in their works. It is needed appreciable that how they have carved and stitched the designs to create a meaningful theme, which is necessary to standout against competition.”
One of the participants in this workshop, Abhishek Jain, final year student of Textile Design department & an initiator of the theme “Euphoria in Nature” opined that “Sometimes we find a very exotic sight of nature which cherishes our body and mind and we want to stay at that particular moment of nature to enjoy it. I have been very much influenced by nature and hence, shown the various aspects of nature in my work.”
