Vaishali Shadangule, a final year post graduate student of Pearl Academy of Fashion (PAF) has been given with the opportunity to present her collection of designs in the Lakme Fashion Week – Summer Resort 2011 which is from March 11th to 15th at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. This is a rare achievement by a student to get an opportunity to showcase her creations amongst the renowned designers of the country. She has presented her collection today, i.e. on the March 14th, 2011. The theme of her collection is “Virus Free”.
According to Ms. Vaishali Shadangule of Pearl Academy of Fashion, “I was always experimenting with my own clothes and spent a lot of time playing with pieces of fabrics since my childhood. Later I found people around me changing their clothing style/pattern on my suggestions which inspired me a lot to take this as a serious profession. Pearl Academy of Fashion has an excellent teaching style and I am learning a lot more being a part of this institution”.
Her concept is based on the fun activities of childhood. In this collection she has tried to recreate the feel of paper toys through different ways of draping, folding, and stitching on a fabric. In her virus free collection she has experimented with the lines, fall, and geometrical forms, which emerge from the placement of the stitch.
According to Dr. A. K. G. Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion, “We at Pearl Academy of Fashion always try to give the learner an in-depth theoretical and working knowledge of all aspects of Fashion Industry and to equip the learner by inculcating professional endurance to make them ready for distinguished platforms like Lakme Fashion Week. We are extremely proud to have our student displaying her collection at this mega Fashion Show of the country.”
