Pearl Academy of Fashion students showcase their designs at “Portfolio 2011”

The annual graduating event of Pearl Academy of Fashion students saw young talents put together a mesmerizing show of innovation, flair and creative genius for a diverse group of industry professionals.

Portfolio – a signature event of Pearl Academy of Fashion – has been established as one of the most sought after events in the fashion and design industry as it provides a platform for students to showcase their flair, versatility and innovativeness through an extensive array of outfits based on vast themes.

The collaborative effort by the graduating students of the 4-year BA (Honours) is aimed at showcasing their innovative design solutions and construction techniques to the industry. Students are required to demonstrate their aptitude for design development, fashion presentation, market knowledge and trend forecasting skills acquired through industry exposure and the duration of their course at Pearl. Ace fashion designers Mr. Shantanu Mehra and Mr. Nikhil Mehra graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Mr AKG Nair, Group Director, Pearl Academy of Fashion said, “I am very privileged to present Pearl Academy of Fashion’s talent to the world. Portfolio marks the students’ journey along with their alma mater in realizing the diverse cultures and ethnicity which makes Indian fashion scene extremely unique and special”

Mr Nair further added “Pearl Academy of Fashion imparts international quality education to its students to meet the dynamic needs of the fashion industry. Since the fashion industry is constantly evolving and is a highly consumer focused industry, the real challenge is to meet aspirations that keep shifting because of global influences.”
