Pearl Academy involved with the NGO – India Vision Foundation for their annual show -“Kids on Ramp-age”

Pearl Academy  with NGO -IVF   activity  been part of their annual show ““Kids on Ramp-age “ by sourcing garments and creating theme for their Fashion Show

Pearl Academy  faculty  Ms.Pavni Gupta , Ms.Tripti Gupta , Ms. Richa Gupta are actively involved in the Project.

Pearl Academy Textile Department are involved with the NGO – India Vision Foundation (IVF) under the CSR Activities for last 6 years .This NGO is headed by Dr. Kiran Bedi and their objectives are :  “Police Reforms ,Prison Reforms, Women Empowerment ,Rural and Community Development , Disability and De-addiction Management ,Sports Promotion”.

      Pearl Academy supporting them by imparting different hand skill for product development to women and adolescent Inmates of Tihar Jail .

PAF faculty and students had attended a talk by NJAL Founder Stefan Siegel (NOT JUST A LABEL (NJAL) on 7th March at the Academy.  He talked about the trilling and challenging experiences of starting and growing a successful business in the fashion and art industry.

His talk was focused on the entrepreneurial spirit needed  to flourish in the design world and also to look at how designers should best prepare themselves for industry’s fashion weeks.

This was an exciting and insightful guidance for the budding entrepreneurs wanting to start their own companies and the designer who are looking for guidance in breaking into the fashion and art scene.

Heimtextil 2012

PAF faculty Ms. Rekha and Ms. Shazia attended an International Conference on Textile and Home, Heimtextile 2012 in Frankfurt, Germany from 11 – 14 Jan 2012.

The visit was very fruitful and they gathered an incredible amount of information about innovations, atmospheres, energy and ideas.  There were 2634 exhibitors from 61 countries.  More than 400 manufacturers drew attention to the latest innovations for textile furnishings in the contract sector and architecture.

Knowledge Globalization Conference: 2012

Ms.Rekha Dar (PAF Faculty)  coauthored & presented  a paper titled Eco-green industrial evaporator: A solution to pollution for Tirupur knitwear industry” at an International conference  “Knowledge Globalization Conference: 2012” hosted by -Foundation for Liberal And Management Education, Pune (FLAME from Jan 5-7, 2012).

The theme of the conference was “Managing Challenges of Emerging Economies”.

International Exhibition of Textile Machinery 2011

Mr. Suranjan Lahiri (Faculty-Pearl Academy of Fashion) recently attended ITMA- the International Exhibition of Textile Machinery 2011, between 22nd-29th Sep 2011, in Barcelona, Spain.

ITMA  has been held every four years since 1951. It is the world’s largest international textile and garment machinery exhibition, an event which is owned by CEMATEX. ITMA is recognised as the Olympics of the textile and garment machinery industry.

International Conference for East African Cotton, Textile and Apparel (CTA) Value Chain to develop competitiveness

Prof. Tarun Pandey (Faculty-Pearl Academy of Fashion) was invited by ACTIF (African cotton and Textile Industries federation) to make a presentation at International Conference for East African Cotton, Textile and Apparel (CTA) Value Chain to develop competitiveness between1st Nov-4thNovember 2011. The conference was held in Mombasa, Kenya.

He presented under the theme of Positioning African Producers to capitalize on Emerging Niche markets and the topic of his presentation was “Tapping the niche segment of Value added finished products”.

Industry and academia from different parts of the world were present in that conference and lot of necessary linkages were developed during that period. The conference was organized by ACTIF which has close to 29 national Associations in 20 African Countries and Kenya Association of Manufacturers.
